June 1st is National Donut Day. It honors The
Salvation Army volunteers who served donuts to
troops in WWI. The Salvation Army is credited with
popularizing the donut in the United States through this simple act of comfort and service. By continuing to celebrate National Donut Day, we recognize those who serve our country as well as their families when they come into times of need.
